System of a Down

Arrivé en plein courant métal, sur les traces d'un improbable KoRn sans aucun rapport, System Of A Down, SOAD pour les intimes, fait fi de ses détracteurs aussi nombreux que leur musique est riche. Entre métal d'une lourdeur bien dosée, et un rock"n"roll effréné, System Of A Down oscille, mélange, fusionne les styles pour une fresque sonore épicée, décalée, originale. Souvent étiqueté comme groupe à connotation politique, tel un Rage Against The Machine, voir négativiste parfois, System Of A Down a eu tôt de se détacher de ses allégations certes justifiées en partie par leur premier album aux commentaires perplexes. Groupe certainement déjanté, mais qui sait où il met les pieds, SOAD fait passer son groove avant les textes, et quel groove. Un régal sonore, très dense musicalement, riche en sonorités, moins complexe structurellement, qu"un certain Tool, mais également loin d'un Coal Chamber...
